Today I am releasing the first part of my new book, Methods of Malarky! I have to say I've been writing this book for a long time, and the first draft is pretty much done. What I'm releasing, though, is a complete, handwritten draft of the first four chapters. This is because the book is not yet fully edited, but it's at the stage of the 1st draft - the one that's been revised and polished into a thing of beauty. I don't usually offer the 1st draft stage, but I want to share it with all of you.

List of the best advice I ever heard:
1. Never think about what you did yesterday, or what you're going to do tomorrow. Think about what you will do five minutes from now.
2. Take things one day at a time.
3. Focusing on the past is the biggest enemy of the future.
4. Make the best of every day.
5. Stay in touch with people you care about, and give them the opportunity to help you.
6. Always keep learning, and don't settle for less than your full potential.
7. The life you're living is your life – the person you become is your responsibility.
I've been thinking lately about how things will be different when we return to our offices. We've gotten so used to working from home, I'll be sure to make coffee and brew a pot of tea before we leave. For a short time, we can think of all the changes we can make in our homes to accommodate this new lifestyle. The boys will be excited to stay home by themselves because I'm sure they'll be missing being here, so we'll have to come up with something. It will be different having to commute to work, and to carpool. It will be different not seeing our friends and family every day. It will be different leaving our dogs with the masked almost-stranger again.
